Class Hours
All regular classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. After school classes or “lunch bunches” run until 1:30 p.m.
Starting in 2024, classes will run from 9:30 a.a. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (with the option to add Thursday if there is sufficient enrollment). After school classes or “lunch bunches” will run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. if there is sufficient enrollment.
General Class Outline
At AHCNS, we believe that a children’s play is their work. Our materials and equipment are selected specifically for developing preschoolers. We guide children to use these materials constructively and creatively. Our professional nursery school teachers are all certified by the State of Maryland. Each day, designated adults serve as the classroom assistants or co-opers. Our teachers base classroom activities on the psycho-social, cognitive, language, and physical development skills appropriate to the age of the class. Children are encouraged to communicate their own individuality through creative art and expressive play.
Lunch Bunch 2023-24 School Year (see below for changes for the 2024-25 school year.) From October through May, our 3- and 4-year-old students are offered the opportunity to attend additional instructional classes (the “Lunch Bunch”) after the regular school day. An emphasis is given to the arts, sciences, languages, and math. Children bring their own lunch and remain at school an additional 1½ hours beyond the regular school day. Students sign up for two week sessions, which are $35 per session and billed with your monthly tuition.
Lunch Bunch 2024-25 Our 3- and 4-year-old students are offered the opportunity to attend additional instructional classes (the “Lunch Bunch”) after the regular school day. An emphasis is given to the arts, sciences, languages, and math. Children bring their own lunch and remain at school an additional hour beyond the regular school day. Students sign up for as many sessions as they would like to attend. The cost is $12 a session with a discount to $10/session if you sign up for at least 6 sessions in a month. Lunch bunch fees will be paid with your monthly tuition.
