The Monkeys have been learning about recipes as we get ready for Thanksgiving. Recipes help us think about sequencing and following directions, and they introduce new vocabulary like “mix,” “stir,” and “scoop.” We learned about measuring ingredients and the science of combining things to make something else. When we followed our recipe in class we used our fine motor skills to scoop and pour. We also used our imaginations to make up our own recipes! Our Panda class had a wonderful time exploring “All About Me” through hands-on, play-based activities!🖌️ Painting Body Cutouts:The children painted themselves with simple, people-shaped cutouts to practice fine-motor skills, and express themselves creatively.🏡 Family House Craft:They decorated little “homes” and added a family photo inside—helping build emotional security, a sense of belonging, and early spatial awareness.🔤 Letter Play With Playdough:Using playdough and letter cutouts, the children explored the letters in their names. We love Eric Carle books! Our Monkeys have read and re-read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See, so we decided to check out some other Eric Carle classics. Last week we read a bunch of Eric Carle books, compared them, re-told them in different activities, and even tried our hand at cutting and making art with paper ourselves.
